Silica gel – Drying and preserving flowers 400g

Description

You will receive 400g of silica gel. Silica gel is reusable. It can be dried in the oven and used over and over again.

How to dry flowers:

You will need:

Silica gel

Container with a lid

Flowers

microwave(second method)

First method:

Cover the bottom of the container with about a centimetre of silica gel.

Place your flowers inside

Slowly fill the container with silica gel. Sprinkle it around and into the flowers.

Close the container and leave for a week to two weeks.

(if your flowers are still limp, they are not yet dry leave inside the silica gel)

Method two:

Follower the fist 3 steps from method one.

Do not close the container, instead place it in the mivcrowave

Fill a cup half way with water and place it next to the container.

Microwave on high for about 3 minutes.

Remove the container (be careful its still hot) and leave to cool for about 12 hours.

Take out your flowers

Please note that the silica gel may release fumes using this method so use caution.

Please wear a dust mask while working with silica gel. You can use a make shift cloth one.

Wear gloves as it can get under your nails and dry your skin. If not wearing gloves wash your hands thoroughly
